Wolston Road Connection Project

Brisbane City Council is constructing Wolston Road between Wacol Station Road and the existing western cul-de-sac on Wolston Road.

Background information
Population growth in South East Queensland’s western corridor (Brisbane’s outer western suburbs to Ipswich) is forecast to continue. By 2010 Brisbane's population is expected to be more than one million and may reach up to 1.15 million by 2026. This will place increased demand on local infrastructure.

Council is committed to improving transport routes to and from central business districts, such as Ipswich and Brisbane, and upgrading access within existing business and industrial hubs to meet this increased demand. Wolston Road connection project is designed to improve access for vehicles in and out of industrial areas on Spine Street, Wolston Road and the general vicinity.

  • providing wildlife movement solutions, such as fauna fencing and a fauna underpass via Sandy Creek bridge.
