ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Gumdale Area Traffic Study is part of Council’s Moving Brisbane program which aims to plan and develop a quality transport network that supports the safe and efficient movement of traffic on major roads and protects lifestyle and safety in residential areas.
The purpose of the study is to examine the road network within the Gumdale area so Council can plan which roads need upgrading and when upgrades should begin. The project will identify how each road should be classified and determine its role in the wider transport network, with the aim of reducing the negative impacts of traffic on the suburb of Gumdale.
The Gumdale Area Traffic Study is between Old Cleveland Road in the south, Belmont Road and Dairy Swamp Road in the west, and New Cleveland Road in the north and the east.
The study will include:
- examining the nature and extent of any traffic issues
- assessing whether there are any major road network shortfalls
- examining whether there are any local street or major road upgrades that may be required
- identifying other measures to improve safety, access and amenity for residents.
