Wynnum Road – Network to Beverley Project

The Wynnum Road – Network Drive to Beverley Road upgrade project was recently completed as part of Lord Mayor Campbell Newman’s Road Action Program (RAP), which tackles Brisbane’s 21 worst congested roads.

Project details
Wynnum Road – Network Drive to Beverley Road upgrade project involved:

  • duplicating the existing Wynnum Road carriageway from two lanes to four lanes between Network Drive and Beverley Road
  • installing right-turn lanes on Wynnum Road to Plaza Street and into the Amber Close residential village
  • installing kerbside bicycle lanes/bicycle awareness zones between Network Drive and Beverley Road.

Road users will benefit from increased road capacity, safety and network efficiency. Bus stop facilities were also improved as part of the project, to encourage the use of public transport.

The Wynnum Road – Network Drive to Beverley Road upgrade project was completed in July 2009.

Brisbane City Council will continue to progressively upgrade sections of Wynnum Road as part of the Road Action Program.
